With the sequel of the very successful adaptation of Stephen King’s IT filming this summer, the casting choices have to start getting announced and one of them has! Yes, this week Jessica Chastain has landed the role of Adult Beverly in the upcoming. To be honest I would have chosen someone a bit more charismatic. Although I saw this coming since Chastain and Muschietti (Director) have worked before on Mama in 2014.
The other news is that James McAvoy and Bill Hader are in talks to star in the film. I think this is a great idea. First off having Bill Hader play the comic relief character of Richie is a no brainer. We all know Hader can bring on the laughs with roles in Trainwreck and SNL. Now he can even bring the drama as he recently starred in HBO’s Barry.
James McAvoy is in talks to play the leader of the Losers’ Club, Bill. This is obviously great news for McAvoy. In my opinion he is one of the most underrated actors right now. He is talented and more than capable of carrying the film. If you’ve seen 2017’s Split you would know that. 2019 looks to be a great year for him, even more so if he gets this role. With the sequel to Split named Glass and the new X-Men movie: Dark Pheonix coming out he has a big year ahead of him and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I can’t wait to see all of those.
Bill Skarsgard will return as the menacing Pennywise in the sequel and the actors from the first film are rumored to film a couple of flashbacks. That’s all the information we have for now, what do you think of the casting choices and are you excited for It: Chapter 2.
It: Chapter is coming out on the 6th of September 2019.
