So the new trailers for Deadpool 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom have come out. They are both the final trailers for their own movie which for Deadpool 2 is ideal since it comes out next month but Jurassic World 2 doesn’t come out till 6th June so I would’ve assumed there would be another trailer.
The final Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer was decent. To be honest none of the trailers have really showed me why I should be anticipating it. One of the reasons why I loved it’s predecessor was because it was targeted to everyone and it a general sense of fun. It also had the family aspect which helped make it a bit more family friendly. This however doesn’t. The plot looks predictable, a couple of morons create a new dangerous dinosaur and it gets loose and it gets in the way of the main characters. I mean I hope I am proven wrong. I also noticed how none of the brothers from the first film appear but that isn’t essentially a problem it’s more of a nitpick since they were a fairly decent part of why the first was the hit that it was. The director of this movie said he is taking the franchise to the horror genre and it was heavily shown in the marketing for it. It’s both a good and bad idea. It’s good because it’s a refreshing and fitting change to an already predictable franchise. It’s bad because it takes the fun and adventurous aspect away which is what made all the other fun to watch. Anyways I’ll still be watching, Chris Pratt and a raptor team up to defeat an evil dinosaur and rescue the other dinosaurs from an exploding island. Who wouldn’t watch that?
The other major trailer that debuted was the final trailer for Deadpool 2. This definitely kicked it up a notch. It was funnier and more action packed than the last two trailers. This trailer made the movie look like you are in for a fun time filled with laughter and great action scenes. I’ll definitely be watching this. Not so much to say about this trailer since it sold me on the movie. Leave it to Ryan Reynolds to sell a movie. Also Peter looks like he’ll be a fan favourite. The fact that Josh Brolin is playing two major villains in two major Marvel movies deserves some type of recognition right?
The problem I noticed with both these trailers is that they both don’t share the excitement and anticipation of their predecessors which is a problem to both franchises. Hopefully they’ll both be good and make a lot of money because it’s too early to say goodbye to these characters. Which one will you be watching?
