Thoughts on the Avengers: Endgame teaser!

The much anticipated Avengers 4 teaser trailer has finally come out and it’s a different turn than what was expected. Around this time last year the Infinity War teaser came out and broke the internet. It built so much hype and broke so many records. This time however since the ‘shock and awe’ tactic was pretty much all of Infinity War, Marvel decided to take it down a notch and focus on the loss and hopelessness of the current situation the world is in since the Decimation occurred.

The trailer starts with a hopeless Tony Stark stranded in space, he is recording a message to Pepper and he’s basically explaining his current situation which is really poor. I really like the darker tone, even the colour scheme, it instantly reminded me of movies like Gravity and Interstellar. Already it feels different than Infinity War while still feeling grander. I really hope no one dies, especially none of the original Avengers. I do like Steve more than Tony but if he dies, it’ll be just as sad.

Then there are glimpses of where Thanos is staying at the end of the last movie as he looks at the sunset. We don’t actually get to see Thanos which was a bit disappointing but what I found interesting is that he still has the Gauntlet on, it’s still busted from the Decimation so why bother keeping it on? I wonder if it still works or if he can perform the Decimation again. Can’t he take it off, that would be hilarious if he actually can’t take it off and he just has to accept it.

The rest of the Avengers are mourning their allies and friends and family. Steve sheds a tear, Thor is looking angrily at the distance, regretting that he didn’t aim for the head. Bruce is looking at the missing people, where Peter Parker and Scott Lang appear but then after Peter, Shuri appears! Is she a victim of the snap or is she actually missing? I feel like they would show her disappearing in Infinity War since she’s a beloved character.

Next a bunch of little things happen, Nebula appears, and she seems to be alone not with Tony. Hawkeye was apparently getting a makeover during Infinity War and after so many fans wondering he’s now here as Ronin. Natasha assures to Steve that their plan will work. I don’t have any idea as to what they’re talking about. Maybe it’s the time travelling which is heavily implied from the set photos. I don’t love the idea but I don’t hate it either. It’s weird because so far, so many crazy things happened over the course of these twenty movies but time travelling is like going a bit too far. I guess it’s because most of the movies weren’t over the top with their storytelling.

As for Scott at the end of the trailer, I was just confused, excited but extremely confused as to how he got out of the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. I guess they had to show something comical since the trailer was so gloomy and dull, in a good way I mean. It shouldn’t be anything other than that.

Those are my thoughts on the Avengers: Endgame teaser trailer! I will definitely be watching this multiple times when it comes out. What do you think about the time-travelling plot? Is it too far-fetched, even for Marvel?
